Všivavec (Smolenice, Boleráz, Horné Orešany)
The subject matter of protection of the protected site represents termophilic and xerophilous flora and fauna communities and dolomite rock outcrops located on the south-eastern foothills of Little Carpathians. The forest with the identically named mound Vršatec forms an oak-elm-ash cover with high occurrence of Allium ursinum and Troleus europaeaus. Flora communities are interesting also thanks to fact that they are green alga, moss and lichen-grown, what proves excessive humidity. Representing the natural boundary of the north section of territory, Smutná Stream provides moisture to flora and fauna communities. One and one and half-metre long anthills with ants of species Formica are typical of this protection site. The territory with an area of 34.1 ha was established a protected site in 1992 on the boundary of cadastral areas of municipalities Smolenice, Boleráz and Horné Orešany. It is situated right next to a state road from Horné Orešany to Smolenice, so it is easy to access the forest either by car or bicycle.
