Vínotéka u Sv. Urbana

Vínotéka u Sv. Urbana (St. Urban Winery), set up by Oľga Pašeková and Eduard Hlaď, was one of the first in Trnava. It is inconspicuous at the first sight but surprises immediately after entering. There is a well-arranged wine selection as well as little extras like T-shirts for bottles or a number of magazines on wine, which visitors can go through. The winery started with the wines of Víno Matyšák brand and even though the wine selection is quite broad, Matyšák wines still have a very strong position. The selection gradually broadened with the brands like Vinárstvo Pavelka a syn, Víno Mrva & Stanko, Golguz, and Vinárstvo JM Doľany. You can also try foreign wines in St. Urban Winery, however always only those imported by the owners themselves. Wines are gradually changed, with the present offer including premium wines of Livi Dubňany and Pinot Noir from Switzerland, which ranks among bio wines. Besides wines you can buy and take, those you can try are always available. Their selection is adapted to season. They include young wines in November and roses in May. The winery is also a tavern where you can order any wine and enjoy it with friends in a homey lounge. The selection is not the broadest but each wine is stored in an amount sufficient to meet greater orders of more than a few bottles. Thank to carefully arranged selection and sufficient stock, local restaurants also buy here. The selling part of St. Urban Winery is planned to be extended in the future and it is possible that visitors will be given access to a charming old vault cellar, which nowadays accommodates wine stock and archive.
