This full-day hike is particularly demanding as a result of its length and steep ascent to Ostrý Kameň. The blue trail markers lead us from Plavecký Mikuláš (210 m) along a paved road to the cottages in the shallow saddleback. We continue up the valley to the crossroads under Horné Lúky, where we turn left and join the red Štefánik major trail. After a short time, we pass the ruins of Brezinky cottage and come to the Breziny trails crossroads. Behind the crossroads, we turn onto the trail leading up to the ruin of Ostrý Kameň. Subsequently, we quite easily climb Záruby (767 m). The trail bypasses the rocks of Havranica and descends to the rock of Havrania skala. At the crossroads with the yellow trail markers, we follow the red trail, descending to the road leading from Trstín to Buková. We turn right and come to a great stone quarry. The trail leads to the left towards the settlement of Trnávka and subsequently to the right towards Raková dolina (Raková valley) above the Buková railway station. After turning left onto the trail leading along the track, we come to the road bridge over the railway tracks. Behind the Raková gamekeeper´s house, we continue upstream along Trnávka stream and along Mihalinová crossroads to the natural monument of Ľahký kameň. The descending path to Dobrá Voda (248 m) leads across meadows and fields into open country.
