Trnava to Smolenice and back

This is moderately difficult trail with a slight elevation. At the beginning leads along a busy state road, then along the less frequented tarmac roads. The destination of this cycle way is Smolenice where you have the opportunity to learn a variety of natural, cultural and historical attractions of the village. Be carful about dense traffic in Trnava at tahe beginning and end of the trip. Start from the railway station in Trnava. Head north, follow the yellow cycle way (8218) take side streets towards the cemetery and an old sugar refinery. You can get to the sugar rafinery riding in a busy street alongside the Bernolák`s Park and city walls. Fom the sugar refinery follow the course of the river Trnávka alog the Trstínska Road. Cross a railway crossing and continue along a relatively busy state road no. 5. Pass the junction to Bohdanovce nad Trnavou and continue trough Šelpice. At first the road passes through approximately 3 km long village Boleráz and its local part Klčovany. After the village with two churches turn left onto a road leading to Smolenice bypassing the dam Boleráz on the left. Soon you reach the main road no. 502 in the center of Smolenice. You can see the Smolenice castle with its beautiful surroundings, original Renaissance church or an overlying archaeological site Molpír here. If you have enough physical strength, turn briefly to the part Jahodník with the only cave in the Little Carpathians accessible to public - Driny cave. Freom Smolenice continue in west along the green labled Small Carpathian Wine Cycle Ttrail around Lošonec. From the eastern edge of the village turn left and along the dam Horné Orešany continue to a wine-growing village with tha same name Horné Orešany. In the village turn left off the road no. 502 to a route going to Suchá nad Parnou. Follow the straight and direct Small Carpathian Wine Route leading thourgh wine-growing region. Pass the edge of the village of Suchá nad Parnou. Pass the turn to Zvončín and follow the blue cycle way (2204). After arrival to Trnava, go over a railway crossing and continue along Suchovská street. At the next junction turn left onto Ružindolská Street and turn right onto Trstínska Road. Following the yellow cycle way (8218) along the old sugar refinery and cemetery take the side streets to get to your destination - railway station.
