Katarína (Termophilic and Xerophilous Forest)
The nature reserve represents a precious territory of termophilic and xerophilous forests containing a downy oak. With the area of 18 ha it was established in 1984 in the cadastral area of municipality Dechtice. It should fulfil also scientific, research and educational objectives. The protected animal species - European green lizard is also the subject matter of protection. In the vicinity of nature reserve, there are ruins of a Franciscan church and monastery of St. Catherine from 1618 (abundant in 1786) situated on a plateau. Since 1955, an archaeological research and rescue works have been executed there. In the neighbourhood of the monastery, there is situated a reconstructed copy of narrow-gauge railway track from the surroundings of Dobrá Voda and the hunting castle Planinka as well. There is the blue tourist route which leads to the nature reserve either from Naháč (from the south) or from Dobrá Voda (from the north).
