The Inventor of Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou

Only few people know that the ringing of bells from the workshop of Jozef Pozdech accompanied the 1867 World Expo closing ceremony in Paris, which was also attended by the French Emperor Napoleon III. The inventor of Hrnčiarovce became known particularly thanks to the patented metal bell yoke, which served for the safe ringing in narrow towers and particularly reduced the number of people needed to ring the bells. While previously had to ring often six to seven people; only one person was required to ring with the help of a bell yoke. No wonder that not only in Hungary, but abroad as well, the bell yokes made by Pozdech were in high demand.
