Two exemplars of protected Tilia platyphillos can be found in Trnava as well. The limes grow in P.Liška's Park within Calvary in Trnava. Thanks to their cultural and historical, landscape, and aesthetic value, they were declared protected trees in 1993. Being a part of municipal historical vegetation both limes are surrounded by hammered fences bearing plates with official identification of these trees. Both trees are largely hollow. To prevent decomposition and rotting processes, they have been covered with small wooden roofs stopping penetration of water to the hollows. The hollows are of great importance for nesting insects and hibernating bats as well. The trees are twenty and twenty six-meter tall and both are 260 years old.
