Klokoč (Limestone Mountain Ridge)

The nature reserve was established in 1996 on the boundary of cadastral areas of municipalities Plavecké Podhradie and Lošonec. The unique grassy mountain ridge complex lies on igneous rocks in the central area of limestone mountain ridge. Its significance resides especially in a shape of surface and variety of animal and plant species communities. There was recorded high occurrence of anthills in this area. The territory of nature reserve with the area of 21.59 ha is situated in the vicinity of main arterial road Štefánikova magistrála including the red tourist route and blue tourist route leading on the main mountain ridge of Little Carpathians. The grassy Klokoč Hill (661), providing a remarkable view of hills Geldek, Vysoká and the whole southern section of Pezinok Carpathians, is a part of the nature reserve.
