This is a semi-difficult trail that runs along the unfrequented public roads with tarmac surface and on paved and unpaved forest roads. This trail was designed especially for mountain bikes and cross bikes and goes through a forested environment passing several cultural and historical attractions around Dechtice and Dobrá Voda. Orientation is easy, there is only one steep slope from the hunting manor Planinka to the ruins of the monastery of Sv. Katarína (St. Catherine). The bike tour begins in the heart of the village Dechtice which is beside the original gothic church of St. Catherine (the Lower Church) also known for the Romanesque church of All Saints (the Upper Church). From the intersection of routes no. 560 and the main road no. 502 in the village, follow the cycleway marked in yellow (8211) direction west to Naháč, but after 500 m turn right onto the road towards Dobrá Voda. At first, there is a moderate gradient and then a slight decrease around the quarry and Dolná Skalová gamekeeper's lodge, soon you find yourselves in the picturesque intramountain Dobrovodská Basin, where the village Dobrá Voda is located. The village is known as a home place of poet Ján Hollý, who is buried in the local cemetery. From the village continue right following the yellow signs and after about 200 m turn sharply to the left. A narrow tarmac road brings you out of the village towards the natural reserve Slopy from where you can see the Dobrá Voda castle ruins dominating the whole valley. To reach the castle you need to make a short detour from the tarmac road. Wall remains, towers and preserved fortification can be found there. After the castle tour return back to the village Dobrá Voda and from here continue on the same road to Dechtice, the same as at the beginning of the trail. By the bus stop Planinka turn right and following this slightly steep road you reach the renovated Hunter Manor-house Planinka. Go around the manor-house from the right until the medows edge up to the touristic path marked in blue. Turn left and follow the unpaved road to the part called Katarínka. Here are located the romantic ruins of St. Catherine monastery which, at present, is being rebuilt by volunteers. The unpaved forest road goes down from Katarínka and then after leaving the forest a gravel road heads south-east torward the main road no. 502. Turn left onto the red marked Small Carpathian Cycle Trail (003) and soon you will get back in Dechtice.
